American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC)
For more than three decades, the American Hardwood Export Council (AHEC) has been the global face of the U.S. timber industry, championing the performance, sustainability and aesthetic potential of American hardwoods worldwide. As the leading international hardwood trade association for North America, AHEC operates a non-profit programme representing thousands of businesses engaged in the production and export of timber – ranging from small family-run sawmills to major flooring manufacturers. Established to unite this wide-ranging spectrum of companies with a single global voice, AHEC has successfully built an internationally recognised brand, marketing more than 20 commercially available hardwood species and increasing demand around the world.
Diez Office
Diez Office designs and develops products for everyday use, focusing in particular on the potential of the circular economy. The practice is led by Stefan Diez, a Munich-based industrial designer who creates products for the circular economy, and is characterised by innovation through technical expertise, instinct and a great passion for experimentation. Since founding Diez Office in 2002, Stefan has been at the forefront of transforming the ways in which contemporary products are developed and manufactured. The studio works across typologies such as furniture, lighting, architectural elements and accessories, bringing together technical expertise, creative experimentation and a rigorous commitment to sustainability.
OMC°C
OMC°C develops new solutions to bring nature into urban environments. The team has long-time experience in the development of series products, project realisation, lightweight construction and eco-design. The founders, Nicola Stattmann and Carlotta Ludig, have focused on the topic of urban greening since 2020. The OMC°C core team based in Frankfurt works with a large interdisciplinary network of experts from science, horticulture, urban planning, architecture, structural engineering, product design, as well as steel and timber construction.
neue Holzbau AG
Neue Holzbau AG, based in Lungern, Switzerland, serves as a vital partner and link among timber contractors, architects, engineers, and builders, providing specialised knowledge in timber engineering. The company excels in designing high-performance connectors and conducts pioneering research in its own laboratory on new connection technologies, bonding techniques, and the utilisation of various wood types. Notably, Neue Holzbau's in-house developed GSA technology has gained global recognition and application. Specialising in hardwood components produced with over 80% Swiss wood, the company stands out in its commitment to quality and innovation. Additionally, Neue Holzbau AG offers project-specific consulting services, guiding clients through every phase "from the forest to the finished timber structure," with the aim of sharing knowledge and enhancing project outcomes.
Forward Studio
Forward Studio’s Founder and Director, Frederick Pittman, has played a crucial role in this project, serving as an architectural consultant and facilitating collaboration between the designer, engineers, and installers. An experienced architect and specialist in timber architecture and sustainable design, Frederick founded Forward Studio in 2020 to focus on human-centric and beautiful sustainable architecture. He has a strong relationship with AHEC, having contributed to key structural demonstrations like Timber Wave while he was at AL_A, and MultiPLy while at Waugh Thistleton.
Stage One
Stage One is a creative design, engineering & manufacturing company that delivers high profile projects across a wide range of industry sectors. From experimental architecture and construction to entertainment infrastructure and large-scale sculpture, their ability to produce complex design & build solutions on a global scale is unparalleled. Collaborating with the world’s most creative minds, they have built each of the Serpentine pavilions since 2009; won a Wood Award for their involvement in the critically acclaimed Abba Arena project; manufactured complex geometry façade panels for Zaha Hadid’s Chanel pavilion; and built Thomas Heatherwick’s iconic London 2012 Olympic cauldron. Stage One combine innovative design, engineering and advanced manufacturing techniques to create moments that people remember forever.
Chelsea College of Arts
Chelsea College of Arts, part of University of the Arts London (UAL) is one of London’s most prestigious art and design colleges. It has an international reputation for producing some of the world’s leading artists and designers. Chelsea College of Arts inspires graduates to apply their practice to the social, cultural and political effects of globalisation. It provides students with a stimulating space and supportive atmosphere, so that they can test ideas and break new creative ground. The College is based in a Grade II listed building alongside the River Thames and Tate Britain in Central London. Students are challenged every day to be at the forefront of art practice, to develop new global networks and to drive forward innovative cross-cultural solutions.
