Husband and wife, Adriaan Hugo and Katy Taplin of the multi-disciplinary product design company, Dokter and Misses are well-known for producing furniture, lighting and a diverse range of products with a boldly upbeat energy that makes them immediately desirable and very cool. Founded in late 2007, the studio’s aesthetic is fundamentally tied to the chaotic city that is Johannesburg; creating clean modern beauty out of its dysfunction and regeneration.

Their work is the culmination of Adriaan’s training in Product Design and Katy’s Graphic Design skills. The couple work out of their Jeppestown workshop while their showroom is situated in Braamfontein and have shown work at Collectable Design Fairs in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Dubai, Basel, London and New York.
