The craftspeople at Benchmark used a CNC router to create the components of the sofas. They started by making a mock-up of the sofa to test the strength and proportions of the structure. When making the two sofas, the red oak was then given a curved chamfer detail with cleverly hidden metal rods to ensure the sofa is robust despite its lightweight appearance.
