The aim was to create an ambitious timber structure at the entrance of the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) in London for the London Design Festival 2011. The V&A Cromwell Road arched entrance is vast, multi-layered and very ornamental. Reflecting the interest in design and making at the heart of the Museum’s collections and London’s creative industries, this giant installation in American red oak was to be a bold and beautiful structure to frame this iconic arch.
