At the heart of KARANA is Hadinata’s commitment to storytelling through design. Each piece embodies a different aspect of Balinese life: the Kuta Bench conveys communal energy and togetherness through its expansive, flowing lines; the Sanur Lounge Chair captures a sense of quiet contemplation and ease, echoing the rhythm of Bali’s coastline; and the Ubud Light reflects spiritual balance with its slender, organic form that feels both delicate and dynamic.

Bringing these ideas into physical form required the collaboration of Indonesian manufacturer Omega Mas. Their skilled craftsmanship was critical in achieving the continuous curves and seamless lines that define the collection. Well acquainted with American hardwoods, the craftsmen found them highly workable and of such quality that they placed less stress on tools and machinery during production. What initially seemed the greatest challenge, the slim, organic structure of the Ubud Light, proved less demanding than the bench and lounger, whose extended curves required absolute precision.
