Matthew was inspired by the form of a console table, traditionally placed in hallways. A tactile finish is created through traditional methods of carving by hand with a gauge. American cherry drawers with walnut handles are hidden within an invisible compartment of the console to add functionality. For added subtle detail, the legs of the console taper from square to octagonal.
